Suri says will stop the faction !!!

Maddelacheruvu Suri, the prime accused in former TD MLA Paritala Ravindra's murder case, has expressed his desire to have a patch-up with Ravi's wife Paritala Sunitha and her gang, so as to end factionism in Anantapur district.

In the last episode "Rakta Charitra" of TV9, Suri said if someone tried to mediate between his family and Ravi's family, he was prepared to give up factionism unconditionally. "My sister Hemalatha Reddy will take initiative in talking to Paritala's family and end factional killings. I am fed up with this factionism. Both the families suffered a lot because of this. At least now, let us put a full-stop to this and lead a normal life for the better future of our children," Suri said.

But, it would be difficult to believe that Suri is a changed man. He is making the proposal, because he got rid of his rival Paritala. That he is not a changed man was evident from his words: "They should not provoke me. If they try to provoke me, they would have to pay the penalty," he said.

75 % Kapu's in PRP

Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi often claims that his party was fighting for social justice and that he would give top priority to weaker sections in his party. But his own party leaders are now alleging that it was being dominated by Kapus and their affiliated castes.

Vijaywada PRP urban committee convenor Kesineni Nani, who is all set to be expelled from the party, has alleged that 75 per cent of PRP leaders in Krishna district belongs to Kapu community and the other community leaders hardly have any role to play in the party. "It is full of Kapu leaders, who brought in their own family members and community people, to fill up important posts in the party. Even in State committee, majority of them are Kapus," he alleged.

Similar allegations are being made in other parts of the State as well. It is better Chiranjeevi does not give scope to such allegations; otherwise, his party would be branded as Kapu party!

War Started before only!!!

Whenever a title is given to a big star, it holds apt meaning to his experience and prowess on the silver screen. However, the title 'Superstar' is a common term and there was a time when this was being used to various top heroes in the film circuit. However, it is said that the original superstar for the Telugu circuit has always been the legendary NTR.

But then, it is known news that the tag of Superstar in Telugu only goes for Krishna. The story goes that many years ago, the famous Jyothichitra magazine known for its films and reporting came up with a contest. They gave out coupons in their magazine and asked the readers to fill in the coupons giving out their favorite hero and post it.

Incidentally, the first week results showed that it was NTR indeed but then from second to sixth weeks it was only Krishna and finally he emerged the winner. It is said that Krishna fans took initiative in this matter and they went to the extent of locating where the magazine is being printed, bought the entire lot, filled the coupons and posted them back. That happened for 5 consecutive weeks and Krishna was declared Super Star. So much was the following for Krishna during his time.

It is also said that out of all the stars, it is Krishna who has the largest number of fans who have been quite loyal to him from the past few decades. So much so that recently when the famous Zoom TV channel conducted a survey in the south to see which hero has got the maximum fan following, the surprise winner turned out to be Krishna beating the likes of Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi (in the matter of number of loyal fans for years together in all walks of life).

Even today, there are many who introduce themselves as fans of Krishna sounding more like a branded company and the truth remains that they don't make much noise unwantedly and have a very deep devotion towards their favorite hero. Today, with Krishna being awarded the coveted Padma Bhushan it goes without saying that this man still rules the roost when it comes to fan following.

Krishna has got some really interesting credits in his life as an actor with a theatre in Guntur screening only his movies for one full year, about seven theatres in a town screening only Krishna movies and that too different ones, the famous Vahini studios having its floors occupied with four five different movies running simultaneously and all of them had Krishna as the hero. Not stopping at that, he is the first man to get color scope to Telugu with his film 'Alluri Seetharama Raju' and later became the first one to get a 70mm movie into Telugu with yet another blockbuster hit 'Simhasanam'.

We salute this man who runs like a silent river but has the depths of an ocean and wish him more success and fame in the time to come.

Chiru Backstabbing Nature

It appears that megastar Chiranjeevi who has now full fledged into politics seems to have learnt the nuances of political words quickly and slowly but surely, he has begun to use them. This time, he has taken the assault directly to chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and his administration.

Taking the reference from the 'Padma' awards, Chiru said that YS has got command over the Congress high command in Delhi and alleged that it is due to the fact that YS sold many lands and gave the money to the folks in the centre. So Chiru's version is that it is on YS's recommendation that both Krishna and Brahmanandam have been chosen for the awards.

Ironically, it must be remembered that megastar Chiranjeevi received the prestigious honor during his peak days and this happened under the regime of the Congress party only. Wonder if Chiru feels the same in his case too.

Chiranjeevi to sharpen attack

The Praja Rajyam president, K. Chiranjeevi, has decided to sharpen his remarks against his political opponents.

The party leaders are of the view that people want Chiranjeevi to be more aggressive in his political speeches in the run-up to the elections.

Recent surveys by the party revealed that the people wanted Chiranjeevi to pack his political speeches with more sting. According to PR sources, the party got a feedback on his political speeches from various sections of people during his state-wide tours. It was found the speeches were stale and insipid.

This survey was conducted in places toured by Chiranjeevi during his public meetings and road shows.

Maoists shock to TRS

Telangana issue once again hit the headlines of all the Telugu dailies on Monday: this time, it is warning from Maoists to Telangana Rashtra Samithi not to go for an alliance with Maha Kootami.

The report was carried very prominently by all the three dailies Eenadu, Andhra Jyothi and Sakshi. It states that Maoist spokesman Sudershan wrote a letter to TRS legislator Harish Rao, stating that the party, under any circumstances, should not join Maha Kootami because Telugu Desam could not be relied upon for granting Telangana State. An alliance with Maha Kootami is nothing but burying the Telangana issue down in the earth. Eenadu presented the report in a diplomatic manner, saying Maoists advised TRS to maintain equal distance from both TD and the Congress, while Sakshi quoted Maoists as advising TRS not to fall in the trap of treacherous TD. All the dailies reported that Maoists' letter caused internal turmoil in the TRS.

The banner stories of the three dailies, however, are different. Eenadu's banner story – Maha Dopidi (Great Robbery) is an exclusive report on the State government's attempt to hand over 830 acres of prime land worth Rs 6,640 crore all along Musi river in the city to a private firm Sun City in the name of beautification of Musi area under public-private partnership. The report says farmers holding the land along the Musi river are being threatened by the land mafia to vacate for the project and the government, which initially promised to give the farmers a 20 per cent share in the project, is now trying to forcibly acquire the land by paying nominal compensation. The report went on to say that a political leader from Delhi and some State leaders are lobbying for commencing the project before the elections.

Sakshi's banner story is CPI-M politburo member Sitaram Yechury's press conference, in which he said Telangana was not in the agenda of his party. The story, which is obviously meant to embarrass the TRS and TD leaderships and scuttle the chances of formation of Maha Kootami, has quoted Yechury as saying that his party was still committed to One-State-for-one-language speaking people policy and that if Telangana was given, there would be demand for 22 other States. The proposed alliance with TRS and TD was only meant for pulling down the Congress government in the State, Yechury said.

Get out of Maha Kootami? will TRS????

According to the latest reports, Telangana Rashtra Samithi is understood to have decided to get out of Maha Kootami, much before it is officially formed.

TRS State executive, which met here on Thursday under the leadership of party president K Chandrasekhara Rao, is learnt to have decided not to compromise on the number of Lok Sabha seats to be shared with other members of Maha Kootami. "Under any circumstances, let us not accept less than 10 Lok Sabha seats. If we can't get them, it is better we stay away from Maha Kootami and decide on our own way," KCR reportedly told the party leaders.

The TRS president is also angry with the way the Left parties are taking Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu for a ride and forcing him to be tough with TRS on seat sharing. Though CPI State secretary K Narayana tried to blame it on the media, KCR reportedly told the negotiators that irrespective of the media reports, there was no compromise on the number of LS seats.

Now, TD is in trouble. If it gives 10 seats to TRS and two each to CPI and CPI-M, it would be left with just three seats in Telangana. It creates a lot of unrest among the party cadres, which ultimately reflects on the party's prospects in the Assembly. So, it is a devil and the deep sea situation for Naidu!

Good beginning for Pavan Kalyan

Going by the strong belief among the people of Telangana region, Praja Rajyam Party's youth leader Pavan Kalyan has made an auspicious beginning of his whirl wind political tour.

Before commencing his yatra in Karimnagar district, Pavan had a darshan of Kondagattu Hanuman at the famous temple near Jagitial.

According to a local belief, any political leader who kicked off his tour from Kondagattu after taking the blessings of Lord Hanuman, achieved tremendous success. As expected, he received massive response from the people and whenever he came down heavily on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, a strong party in the district, there was loud cheers from the crowds.

Pavan believes that Lord Hanuman, being the favourite god of Chiranjeevi, would bestow him with power. But, why didn't Chiranjeevi do it is still a million dollars question.

3.30 woke up wah re wha!!!!

Surprising as it might sound, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao will wake up at "Brahmi Muhurtham" on Wednesday.

KCR's purohits told him that he should come to Telangana Bhavan along with his wife and other family members at any cost by 4 am to kick start the Vishwa Santi Mahayagnam on the premises of TRS office. Which means, he has to get up at 3.30 am and get ready for the yagam. More than 100 vedic pundits are participating in the Maha Yagam, which is primarily aimed at establishing peace and order in the world, but is essentially meant for the success of TRS in general and KCR in particular in the next elections.

It is rather a pleasant surprise for the party workers to see KCR in the early hours, which is of course a rare scene. Normally, KCR goes to sleep at that time and wakes up not before 11 am. Let us hope, at least from now, KCR will learn to get up early and go into the people with fresh mind, rather than in a drunken state!

KCR secret enquires on Cong Plan!!!

It appears Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao's body is in Maha Kootami, but the soul is still with the Congress party.

New Delhi sources say KCR still nurtures some hopes on the positive decision likely to be taken by the Congress party on Telangana demand. He spent the whole Sunday calling media persons in Delhi to find out what was happening in the Congress camp. He also made secret inquiries about what had transpired between Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Pranab Mukherjee on the Telangana issue.

In fact, KCR reportedly told one of the media persons that he was not wholeheartedly in favour of joining hands with Telugu Desam, but was compelled to take the decision only because the Congress high command was succumbing to YSR's pressure tactics. He sought media persons's advice as to whether there was still a possibility of restoring ties with the UPA. Do it KCR, then see how people will spit at your face for changing colours so frequently!

YSR says no decision on Telangana before polls

At last, Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's word prevailed before AICC president Sonia Gandhi on the crucial Telangana issue.

After meeting Sonia, a jubilant YSR told mediapersons that no decision had been taken on Telangana, since the high command had to hold further consultations with many other sections concerned with the issue. "The Congress high command might take a decision before the next elections," he said.

The Chief Minister also ruled out the possibility of passing a resolution in the State Assembly in favour of Telangana. "When we have left it to the high command, there is no need for the State Assembly to adopt a resolution. We have only discussed the election strategies with the Madam," he said.

Talli Telangana to join Mahakootami

Talli Telangana party president Vijayashanti is happy for more than one reason: for, she is going to get a bigger role in the coming elections.

Till the other day, nobody was taking Vijayashanti seriously. Suffering from family troubles and lack of political patronage from the people, she was almost ruled out from politics. She tried for a better bargain with Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao, but in vain.

Now, she is compelled to compromise with whatever she gets. She is all set to merge her party with TRS on January 16 and in return, she was assured of a Parliament seat for her and a good position in the party. What is more, she would be in the elite company of Chandrababu Naidu, B V Raghavulu and K Narayana, as part of Grand Alliance.

Who knows Vijayashanti might even stake claim for a Central minister post, if third front comes to power at the Centre. Of couse, all this is mere guessing. All the best, Ramulamma!

TARGET --------->RAMOJI

Don't get surprised if Eenadu group chairman Ramoji Rao meets the same fate as that of Satyam ex-chief Ramalinga Raju in a few days from now.

Reliable sources in the government say Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy is bringing pressure on the Union Finance Ministry to see that the investigation pertaining to Margadarsi fraud and income tax evasion by Ramoji Rao be expedited and see that Ramoji Rao goes behind the bars at least for a few weeks.

Obviously, the Chief Minister wants that the Ramoji Rao arrest becomes big news for the media, so that it can overshadow the Ramalinga Raju episode. At least till the elections, Ramoji Rao arrest would be in the media limelight, so that the Raju episode gradually fades away from the public memory.

And Rajahmundry MP Undavalli Arun Kumar is working overtime to make it happen soon!

Balayya for Paritala Death Anniversary !!!

The time has come to commemorate the fourth death anniversary of 'Penukonda Puli' Paritala Ravi and this time all eyes are focused on this one as a key gesture is going to happen. There is news that the anniversary which will happen at the Paritala residence will be graced by the presence of none other than Yuvaratna Balakrishna.

Paritala has been a loyal TDP follower and he has worked as an MLA from the Penukonda constituency. He was also the minister for labour for a while before the fangs of factionism struck him and he was assassinated brutally. Incidentally, Paritala was the saving grace during the 2004 election as TDP won a humiliating defeat but Paritala managed to win.

Balayya has been the rising hope for the Telugu Desam members and they have seen a lot of enthusiasm from the public with his arrival. With Balayya making a stronger presence in the TDP camp and his association with these events, it remains to be seen how crucial he gets to be for the coming elections.

KVP link to Ramalinga Raju!

Has Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's son and advisor K V P Ramachandra Rao anything to do with Satyam Raju episode?

Opposition parties are trying to dig out the understanding between KVP and Raju. In fact, KVP's son Ujjwal got engaged to a girl from Raju family, closely related to Ramalinga Raju. So, the Opposition parties are trying to put two and two together and allege that KVP had a share in the booty of Ramalinga Raju and was instrumental in securing crores of rupees worth projects to Maytas, owned by Ramalinga Raju's son.

Sources say the Satyam episode might strain the relationship between the Chief Minsiter's family and KVP, since the latter's out-of-the way help to Rajus has brought bad name to YSR at the time of elections.

Well, these are all speculations and it is doubtful whether YSR would have any break-up with KVP at the time of elections.

How did Raju Net???

With the fall of Satyam and the dubious foundation of its sister concern Maytas Infra in sharp focus, bureaucrats are talking in hushed tones about the roles certain IAS officers played in promoting this infrastructure company in getting prized projects, land and funds from the state government. According to the grapevine, four of them top the list. These comprise one principal secretary each from finance, industry and municipal administration departments respectively, while the fourth is an officer who was earlier posted in Huda. These officers, it is being said, worked as government representatives on the one hand, and guided the company in getting contracts on the other. In this manner, thousands of government land is said to have been released for Maytas without the issuance of a GO. Now, the question that is in everyone’s minds is: Who all will Ramalinga Raju take down with him?

My Hubby is cooperative!!!

Roja recently got off the political dais and got to share about her family. She said that her husband Selvamani has been full support to her and he has a great deal of interest in politics which has brought her here. Selvamani is a noted film maker in the southern circuit.

Roja also said that it is really heartening to see her two year old son who has just learnt to talk but then shows a lot of affection and concern for her mom even checking whether she had her morning coffee or not. Roja has also got a daughter and overall, this actor- politician is happy that her family symbolizes one happy unit.

Which sysmbol will PRP get !! Lion or Train????

The Praja Rajyam Party appears to be reconciled to the fact that it would be next to impossible to get "rising sun" as its election symbol from the Election Commission of India.

Party sources say the party is now asking for either "train" or "lion" as its election symbol for all its candidates in the next elections. Though Election Commission has expressed its inability to allot a common election symbol for the PRP since it is not yet a recognized party, things have changed after party president Chiranjeevi personally went to the EC office in New Delhi and made a strong request, producing all evidences to prove its potential to come to power. The EC is now considering his request, provided there is no objection from any other party for the common symbol.

However, PRP sources wonder which symbol could give a brand image to the party. Some leaders say train would be an appropriate symbol, because it is a common man's mode of transportation during long distance travels. Secondly, media gave extensive publicity about this "train" symbol, much before Chiranjeevi officially launched his party. So, it would go down well with the people. However, there are others who feel that lion would also be a good symbol, because it symbolizes aggression and royalty. It is the king of all animals, but does not harm smaller creates unlike tiger. This symbol can be attractively used during the campaign, they say.

Chiru as guest in Vaaradhi Foundation

Are bothe in fools Paradise????

TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao have been on cloud nine, ever since the Congress received a minor jolt in the recent byelections to a few Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies.

They are under the impression that the Congress party's days are numbered in the State and that a Grand Alliance of TD-TRS-CPI and CPI-M would completely dismantle the Congress in the next elections.

KCR has gone a step ahead and told his party cadres that if there is a grand alliance, the Congress would not get more than four or five Assembly seats in Telangana and would draw a blank in the Lok Sabha polls.

Political analysts say the Opposition leaders are in a fool's paradise. Though it is not very easy for the Congress to retain its earlier strength in the State, including Telangana region, it is not tough either. Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy knows how to give steer the party in the direction of victory; and he has already started implementing his strategies.

Analysts say it could also be a strategy on the part of Chief Minister to deliberately allow the Opposition leaders to become overconfident and complacent with a few victories in some areas. And as if he is acting tough, he would take action against some Congress leaders, so as to create an impression among the Opposition parties that he got panicky. At the same time, it would also give a message to the overconfident Congress leaders to go on toes and pull up their socks.

Secondly, the Chief Minister will use all his tactics to engineer splits in the rival parties as the elections are nearing so as to upset their calculations at the ground level. He is learnt to have formed a team of his close confidants, led by his bosom friend K V P Ramachandra Rao, to find out loose links in the Opposition parties, who can play spoil sport with the chances of rival candidates. If sources are to be believed, this team has been allocated huge funds to lure such characters and destroy the rival camps.

Thus, it is evident that YSR would go all out in the coming days to save his throne and the party. Does the Opposition have any such strategies?

Balaiah and Purandareshwari Drama!!!

The way Yuvaratna-turned-hope of Telugu Desam Nandamuri Balakrishna and his sister Daggubati Purandareshwari are expressing their willingness to contest against each other, is giving an impression that both are enacting a big drama.

Balakrishna has made the statement because he has to make some sensational news. He is more interested in contesting Assembly elections, whereas Purandareshwari wants to contest again as an MP.

So, they have no clash of interests. But, it would always be interesting for the media to highlight the contest between sister and brother and they can make a big news.

Political observers, however, say it is all drama. In 1982 elections, the then Congress leader N Chandrababu Naidu, too, challenged to contest against his father-in-law and TD founder N T Rama Rao, but after the elections, he somersaulted into the TD. Who knows, Purandareshwari, too, might jump into the TD, if Balaiah becomes the Chief Minister!

So agressive!!!!

Megastar Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party, which has hitherto been lacking the punch and vigour, has now attained the required masala in politics, with Yuvarajyam president Pawan Kalyan entering the scene and attacking the Congress.

Apparently realising that PRP president Chiranjeevi's speeches are lack-lustre and failing to attract crowds, the party think tank is understood to have advised Chiru to rope in his brother Pawan Kalyan. And that started yielding results immediately.

Right from the day one, Pawan Kalyan has set aside all the so-called ideals of his brother. While Chiru was saying he was averse to making personal criticism in politics, Pawan straightaway resorted to personal attacks against Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, his advisor KVP Ramachandra Rao, Minister Md Shabbir Ali, PCC president D Srinivas and other prominent Congress leaders that kicked up a lot of heat and dust in the State politics. On the first day, he described Shabbir Ali as "Desa Drohi" (anti-national) for supporting the ISI agents and on the next day, he changed his wordings and said the minister was "Daiva Drohi" (anti-god). Though YSR did not directly react to Pawan's statements, it triggered wide spread reaction from the PCC and CLP offices.

And that was what Pawan wanted. He knows that the more he evokes such a reaction from rivals, the more will be PRP in the news. Pawan went a step further to display his aggressive posture, saying he was prepared to face even AK-47 bullets and attacks from the Congress workers, but would stick to his comments. "I am willing to go to jail even and face the lathi blows for the sake of the people. But I will continue to expose these corrupt Congress leaders," he said.

And it made the things easy for Chiranjeevi. He supported his brother saying there was nothing wrong in his observations. Looks like Chiru and Pawan have learnt the tricks of trade in politics!
