Actress turned Jayaprada who has been with Samajwadi Party is now thinking to join Congress apparently.

The present political situation is completely ad hoc and that is evident through odd combinations and unexpected unions. Jayaprada was with TDP for sometime and her differences with Chandrababu made her away from the party. She then joined with Samajwadi and moved very close with Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh. The reason for her quit from TDP was said to be the lack of attention paid by Chandrababu on her.

Now we have to see what attention YSR pays. And the reason for her idea to jump from Samajwadi to Congress is not known yet.

Just like there is a 'Big Four' for the Indian cricket team, even our Telugu film industry has its own 'Big Four' which comprises of Megastar Chiranjeevi, Yuva Samrat Akkineni Nagarjuna, Victory Venkatesh and last but not the least Yuva Rathna Balakrishna. These stars have the power in them to make up for any losses faced by the industry with a single hit of their movie.

However, things look a bit confusing as of now since two of them are nowhere in the picture. We are talking about Megastar Chiranjeevi and Balayya. Apparently, Chiru seems to have been caught up with his political train and its arrival but one is not really sure what is happening on Balayya's end.

For now, there is only single confirmed news.

Venky has given his confirmation to take off with his next film which has been titled as 'Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum' with director Krish who is known for his hit film 'Gamyam' , Nag from his end has already got off with his next venture which has been titled as 'King' and is being directed by Srinu Vaitla who is basking the success of his latest release 'Ready'.

KCR ki reverse trap

Everybody is under the impression that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao is taking pro-active steps to muster the support of smaller parties against the UPA government. But the fact is that he is bargaining with the Congress using these parties.

According to reliable information from New Delhi, the TRS president, who had a closed door meeting with Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Ajit Singh, reportedly tried to trap him. KCR asked Ajit to bring pressure on the Congress on giving some assurance on Telangana, as a precondition for supporting the UPA in Lok Sabha on July 22.

However, it turned out to be a reverse trap. Ajit Singh reportedly asked KCR not to blackmail the Congress at this stage and fall a prey to the Communists' game plan. "You support the UPA in Lok Sabha first.

Then, I will talk to Sonia Gandhi to consider Telangana," he is learnt to have said. KCR is seriously considering this offer and might change the tune in the last moment, sources said.

Babu ki shock medha shock

In yet another shock to Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu, former minister and important leader in Nellore district Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy called it quits from the party, obviously to find a place in the forthcoming party of megastar Chiranjeevi.

Prasanna has been staying away from TD politics for quite some time.

More recently, he triggered a controversy in the party by writing a letter to Naidu, asking him to step down to pave way for his brother-in-law Nandamuri Balakrishna as party president. He released the letter to the media, thereby angering Naidu. But no action was taken against Prasanna later, though other TD leaders from Nellore including Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy attacked him.

Prasanna Kumar Reddy is son of late Nallapureddy Srinivasulu Reddy, one of the founder-members of the Telugu Desam. After parting ways with NTR, Srinivasulu Reddy joined the Congress later, but his son continued to be in the TD. Now, Prasanna also left TD, crippling the party in the district.

Guess how? Simple. His latest survey on the prospects of political parties in the next elections did all the trick. The survey clearly established that Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy enjoys all the advantage over all the political parties, including the forthcoming Chiranjeevi's party and stands 100 per cent chance to come back to power in 2009 elections.

Insiders say though the survey results did not totally in favour of YSR government, lot of manipulations were done at the NTV office itself. The figures were ready within two hours, as per the requirements of the ruling party. However, the NTV management took every care that some credibility is maintained. One might have noticed that the channel has also run a half an hour programme on Arogyasri.

C. Ramachandraiah quits from TDP party

Hyderabad, July 18 (IANS) In yet another blow to the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh, senior party leader and Rajya Sabha member C. Ramachandraiah Friday resigned from the party. He made the announcement after a meeting with his followers in Kadpa district, bringing the curtains down on the speculation doing rounds for the last two weeks.

Ramachandraiah, who had recently admitted to ideological difference with party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, said the “callous” attitude of the party towards the problems of backward classes and farmers forced him to take the step.

Alleging that the TDP had deviated from the policies of party founder N.T. Rama Rao, he said he had no option but to resign as Naidu was pursuing his personal agenda.

“Since, I could not change him (Naidu), I decided to change the party,” said Ramachandraiah.

He said he would join a party wedded to social equality and equality. There are indications that he might join the new political party proposed to be launched by Telugu actor Chiranjeevi next month.

Ramachandraiah was a member of the TDP politburo, the highest decision making body of the party and one of the powerful leaders from the backward classes.

His resignation will deal a big jolt to the party in the Rayalseema region, especially Kadpa district, from where Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy comes.

Ramachandraiah, a chartered accountant by profession who was associated with the TDP since its inception in early 1980s, had served as junior minister in N.T. Rama Rao’s cabinet. He was elected to the assembly from Kadpa in 1985 and has been a Rajya Sabha member since 1988.

His resignation comes at a time when the TDP is facing a crisis due to the exodus of senior leaders. Last month, senior leaders former MP Bhuma Nagi Reddy and his wife former state legislator Shoba Nagi Reddy had quit the TDP to join Chiranjeevi’s proposed party.

Earlier, party second-in-command and former home minister T. Devender Goud had resigned to float a new party to fight for a separate statehood for the Telangana region.

Several former legislators and district level leaders quit the TDP during the last few weeks to join Chiranjeevi’s party.

Earlier this year, senior leader and former minister K. Vidyadhar Rao was expelled from the party for making a statement in support of Chiranjeevi.
