JP wants to elected without any competion!!

Lok Satta president Jayaprakash Narayana, who has decided to contest from Kukatpally Assembly constituency, is not sure of facing tough competition from the other political parties.

So, JP is said to be negotiating with other parties to see that there would be no contest, so that he would get elected unanimously. He wants the other parties to believe that he is the symbol of democracy and would bring a radical change in the State politics. So, it is essential that he should be in the Assembly.

It is learnt only Praja Rajyam Party has conceded his request and decided not to field any candidate against him. But in the remaining parties, there is a tough competition. Congress candidate P Vishnuvardhan Reddy and TD candidate K Vijayarama Rao are trying hard to grab this seat. Who will vote for JP?

Balaiah's tour flop in Nellore

The second-leg of election campaign kicked off by Telugu Desam Party’s star campaigner Nandamuri Balakrishna in Nellore district has turned out to be a flop show.

Balakrishna started his tour from Tada on Andhra Pradesh-Tamil Nadu borders on Sunday morning. Though the TD leaders managed to mobilise large number of crowds for his road show, their response was poor because Balaiah’s speech was far from impressive. Unlike in his previous tour in Rayalaseema, Balaiah did not resort to thigh thumping or twirling of moustache, but gave a very insipid speech.

Praising the programmes announced in the Telugu Desam manifesto, Balaiah reiterated that Naidu would be the next Chief Minister. He said he was prepared to contest from any constituency, if he was asked to do so.

MRPS was used against Left by KCR

In yet another instance of crooked politicking, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao is learnt to be provoking Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi president Manda Krishna Madiga to demand the seats being preferred by Communists.

Madigas are dominant in several parts of Khammam, Nalgonda, Anantapur and Chitoor districts, apart from parts of northern Telangana. KCR, in his talks with Manda Krsihna, is learnt to have told him that the issue of categorisation of SCs would be resolved if separate Telangana State is formed. So, it is essential that more number of pro-Telangana MLAs and MPs get elected.

Therefore, he asked Krishna Madiga to ask for the seats of Communist, since they would any way stall separate Telangana. That way, the TRS could be safe. Will the Leftists keep silent?

Chiru targets KCR!!

Finally, Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi is understood to have chosen Peddapalli constituency in Karimnagar district, the bastion of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao, as his second constituency to contest the ensuing Assembly elections.

Obviously, Chiranjeevi wants to pay KCR in his own coin and disprove the latter’s allegation that PRP does not have any clarity on Telangana issue. Peddapalli is very close to Karimnagar town and is dominated by the TRS in every village. Initially, there was a talk that Chiranjeevi would choose Adilabad to contest because of its backwardness and also lack of much competition either from the Congress or the TRS.

But he seems to have changed his mind and is focussing on Karimangar, where he began his first political journey. Since then, PRP has been growing stronger and stronger in this district, particularly in the urban areas.

Its time for TDP Kshudra Rajakeeyam

Now, it is time for political parties to cheat the voters with fake promises. The manifestos announced by Telugu Desam and Praja Rajyam Party have been the subject of heated debates and discussions in the media since Thursday. Obviously, there is a lot of criticism from all quarters, particularly against TD’s manifesto, which virtually promised moon on the earth.

Sakshi has, in its usual style, has taken a critical view of TD’s manifesto and ridiculed the promises heaped by TD president N Chandrababu Naidu on the voters. It also added masala to the story in the form of criticism from Lok Satta president Jayaprakash Narayan, who accused Naidu of resorting to “Kshudra Rajakeeyam” (Dirty politics) and Finance Minister K Rosaiah, who said Naidu was only cheating the people with the manifesto. On the PRP’s manifesto, Sakshi described it as a sentimental assault on the people, since Chiranjeevi only tried to play with the sentiments of women and the poor.

Eenadu reported the contents of both the manifestos without making any comments, while Andhra Jyothy carried an analytical piece as its banner on how the two parties were compelled to announce sops for the poorer sections, only to counter the Congress party, which has already trapped the people with various schemes, notwithstanding their burden on the State exchequer. Under this report, AJ carried two different stories on TD and PRP manifestos, one is about Colour Vision and the other is about Colourful Dreams, respectively.

There are no other major reports in the three dailies. Sakshi and Andhra Jyothy, however, carried brief reports on the exercise being done in the Congress over selection of candidates. Sakshi, in its anchor story on Telugu Desam party’s first list of candidates, disclosed that Balakrishna would be contesting from Hindupur Assembly seat.

S V Subba Reddy says 'Regional parties are useless'

He has been there in TDP for more than two decades and this gentleman says regional parties are useless now...Its Fair or Unfair.....Right now in dirty politics it is fair only!!

Coming to picture the Pattikonda MLA S V Subba Reddy an senior leader in the TD, Subba Reddy claims he is senior to Chandrababu Naidu in politics. He is one leader, who addresses Naidu in singular number. And all these years, he has been functioning as uncrowned leader in his constituency and on many an occasion, he defied the whips and orders of the party leadership, but could get away with it because of his seniority and command over his constituency.

This time, Subba Reddy wanted that the ticket be given to his son, but Naidu rejected the demand and preferred K E Prabhakar, an arch rival to Subba Reddy’s family. Within no time, he got invitation from Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy into the Congress. And he now says only national parties like the Congress can provide a new direction to the State and that the regional parties have not delivered goods. That is the power of politics!
