If not money and liquor, chicken will do

With the police keeping a strict watch on distribution of money and liquor to voters, Congress leaders in Jagitial constituency in Karimnagar district have discovered an ingenious way of wooing voters – distribution of chicken.

On Monday, Congress workers in Narsingapur village of Jagitial purchased huge quantities of chicken, cut it into half kg pieces, packed them neatly and started distributing them among voters. This was more attractive than money to voters. However, their jubilation was short-lived as Telugu Desam Party workers noticed it and complained to the police and the election authorities. They immediately seized the chicken packets. Anyway, chicken cannot be deposited in the court; so the police must have sumptuous lunch and dinner. Alas! The Congress workers felt disappointed!
