The Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders, who received severe drubbing in the recent electios, are desperate to exploit the Telangana sentiment on silly pretexts.
Take for instance the statement of TRS legislator T Harish Rao. He says great injustice was meted out to the Telangana leaders in the cabinet expansion and allotment of portfolios. He forgot the point that as many as 15 ministers in the Cabinet are from Telangana and five out of six women ministers are from this region.
When it was pointed out to him, Harish Rao says it is grossly insufficient. He does not agree with the fact that the key portfolio of Home was given to a Telangana minister Sabita Indra Reddy. “What is home portfolio? The home minister is like a snake without fangs. The real power is with the Chief Minister,” he said. What about the portfolios of Medical and Health, Minor Industries, Information and Tourism etc. Are they not key portfolios?
