Ramoji Rao did launch Junior NTR, but the film ‘Ninnu Choodalani’ did not make any impact. It was the second film, ‘Student No. 1,’ that launched Junior NTR’s film career, and very shortly, hits like ‘Aadi’ and ‘Simhadri’ ensured that the ‘unaccepted’ grandson of NTR, and his closest look-alike, has arrived.
TDP insiders say Shalini had not forgiven the NTR clan on the one hand, and Naidu on the other, for the initial treatment meted out to her and son. While Junior NTR was virtually ignored by the NTR clan despite being the son of Harikrishna, she was not accepted in the Nandamuri clan because she was the second wife of Harikrishna.
Thus while the NTR clan is posing problems for Naidu by projecting Balakrishna as their leader rather than the TDP president, Shalini’s prevailing on Junior NTR to concentrate on his career rather than lend a helping hand to Naidu can act as a big blow to Naidu’s comeback dream. “With so many problems within, Naidu is relying on Balakrishna to sort things out but it is doubtful whether Junior NTR would listen to him as the latter considers his mother as the only person who stood by him through the thick and thin,” one insider remarked.
According to sources, Naidu has urged Balakrishna to prevail upon the clan to project a united picture at least at the ‘Yuvagarjana’ rally in Guntur on November 5. “Junior NTR’s absence would be a big blow for Naidu as the actor has a seizable following in the coastal region, the battleground where Chiranjeevi is threatening Naidu’s domain. Rather than Balakrishna, if Naidu wants Junior NTR at the Guntur rally, he should approach Shalini. But is he willing to do it is the question,” said a TDP leader.
