Congress Legislature Party has ridiculed the deliberate attempts being made in the last few days in projecting Nara Lokesh Naidu as an intellectual from Stanford University engaged in the noble task of designing new schemes for the welfare of the people.
Describing it as a big joke, the CLP said it was unfortunate on the part of former TD MP Ummareddy Venkatewarulu to say that Lokesh Naidu, with his international connections, designed the direct cash transfer scheme proposed in the draft manifesto of the TDP. According to the Congress leaders, IIT guru Chukka Ramaiah had refused admission for IIT entrance to Lokesh, despite Chandrababu Naidu personally talking to him, only because Lokesh’s performance in the X class was poor. In fact, Ramaiah said Lokesh would never be in a position to make it to the IIT.
Even the admission of Lokesh in Stanford University was not by merit. There are allegations that Satyam chairman Ramalinga Raju made donations to Stanford University and got Lokesh a seat in the donor’s category. “Let Ummareddy release to the media the scores of Lokesh in X class and GMAT exam. And all what is so great about the cash transfer scheme? It is nothing but a bait to pay cash to the citizens in the State in the hope of getting elected. It costs nothing less than Rs 36,000 crores per annum additionally,” the CLP said.
