It is all work and no play for KCR even after polls

While chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu are set to take a break after long gruelling days of campaigning, it looks like it is all work and no play for TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao.

While the CM is scheduled to take a one-week break to cool off at Kulu-Manali hill station in Himachal Pradesh next week, Naidu is likely to go to Singapore on holiday. KCR, however, is planning to go to New Delhi on Sunday and interact with Sharad Pawar, Mayawati, Ajit Singh, and some ‘important’ BJP leaders to explore the options for the third front in the national postpoll scenario.

Besides, KCR will meet other party leaders to seek their support for the cause of Telangana. KCR is likely to meet BJP leader L K Advani as the right-wing party had promised to grant Telangana within 100 days of coming to power.

KCR secret enquires on Cong Plan!!!

It appears Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao's body is in Maha Kootami, but the soul is still with the Congress party. New Delhi sources say KCR still nurtures some hopes on the positive decision likely to be taken by the Congress party on Telangana demand. He spent the whole Sunday calling media persons in Delhi to find out what was happening in the Congress camp. He also made secret inquiries about what had transpired between Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Pranab Mukherjee on the Telangana issue. In fact, KCR reportedly told one of the media persons that he was not wholeheartedly in favour of joining hands with Telugu Desam, but was compelled to take the decision only because the Congress high command was succumbing to YSR's pressure tactics. He sought media persons's advice as to whether there was still a possibility of restoring ties with the UPA. Do it KCR, then see how people will spit at your face for changing colours so frequently!

YSR says no decision on Telangana before polls

At last, Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's word prevailed before AICC president Sonia Gandhi on the crucial Telangana issue.

After meeting Sonia, a jubilant YSR told mediapersons that no decision had been taken on Telangana, since the high command had to hold further consultations with many other sections concerned with the issue. "The Congress high command might take a decision before the next elections," he said.

The Chief Minister also ruled out the possibility of passing a resolution in the State Assembly in favour of Telangana. "When we have left it to the high command, there is no need for the State Assembly to adopt a resolution. We have only discussed the election strategies with the Madam," he said.

So at last it is now official and clear. PRP leader Chiranjeevi has categorically declared at his road show in Jagitial, amidst firing of crackers, that his Praja Rajyam party is all in favour of separate Telangana.

Chiranjeevi declared that his party would not come in the way, if the UPA government at the Centre announces the formation of Telangana. "I understand the sentiments of the people of Telangana and my party always respects the feelings of the people. My heart beats to the tune of your aspirations. We are for separate Telangana," he said.

What is more, he ended his speech with the slogan "Jai Telangana," as the people fired crackers. "Why is the Centre silent on this crucial issue? Let us all bring pressure on Delhi rulers to grant separate Telangana," he thundered. He said Telangana was not actually a backward area, as being claimed by a few leaders, but was pushed backward by the rulers in the past. "Let us all have a developed and glorious Telangana," he said.

KCR condition rejected by Vijayashanthi

Heroine-turned-Talli Telangana president Vijayashanti is understood to have rejected the condition put forth by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao for merger of her party with TRS.

The TRS president said last week that the merger would take place in two or three days. But even after five days, it did not materialise.

Inquiries revealed that Vijayashanti did not accept KCR's condition, after discussing with her colleagues in the party. They told her that she would lose her identity, once she joins the TRS and it was very difficult for her to adjust to KCR's style of functioning.

They suggested that she could agree to have a tie-up with TRS and also with other Telangana outfits like Nava Telangana Praja Party of Devender Goud, so that she would have some bargaining power. If she joins TRS, she might not even get the party ticket in the next elections, they warned. So, that is the story so far!
