Lokesh is an intelligent or an intellectual ???

Congress Legislature Party has ridiculed the deliberate attempts being made in the last few days in projecting Nara Lokesh Naidu as an intellectual from Stanford University engaged in the noble task of designing new schemes for the welfare of the people.

Describing it as a big joke, the CLP said it was unfortunate on the part of former TD MP Ummareddy Venkatewarulu to say that Lokesh Naidu, with his international connections, designed the direct cash transfer scheme proposed in the draft manifesto of the TDP. According to the Congress leaders, IIT guru Chukka Ramaiah had refused admission for IIT entrance to Lokesh, despite Chandrababu Naidu personally talking to him, only because Lokesh’s performance in the X class was poor. In fact, Ramaiah said Lokesh would never be in a position to make it to the IIT.

Even the admission of Lokesh in Stanford University was not by merit. There are allegations that Satyam chairman Ramalinga Raju made donations to Stanford University and got Lokesh a seat in the donor’s category. “Let Ummareddy release to the media the scores of Lokesh in X class and GMAT exam. And all what is so great about the cash transfer scheme? It is nothing but a bait to pay cash to the citizens in the State in the hope of getting elected. It costs nothing less than Rs 36,000 crores per annum additionally,” the CLP said.

Jagan to fight!!!

So, it is confirmed, officially. Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s son Jaganmohan Reddy has confirmed in his own daily Sakshi that he is entering the electoral fray and would contest the elections from Kadapa, if given the ticket.

In his front page editorial of Sakshi on Wednesday, Jagan attacked Eenadu group chairman Ch Ramoji Rao directly for resorting to Goebel’s campaign on his Sakshi daily and challenged him to defeat in people’s field (praja kshetram). “I was hesitant to contest the elections, since I thought it would affect the credibility of my daily and channel because of your continued mudslinging on me. But now, it has been proved that you are attacking me with malicious intentions and people have understood your diabolical game plan of bringing your stooge Chandrababu Naidu back into power, I have been emboldened to enter the electoral politics. Let the people decide who is wrong and who is right,” he said in his editorial.

Well, it is time for readers to judge the sanctity of journalism not through the reports, but through public fighting. Whether one agrees or not, media has been politicised and the thin line between journalism and politics has disappeared.

Otherwise, the three dailies – Andhra Jyothy, Eenadu and Sakshi – gave top priority to Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi’s public meeting at Rajahmundry, which was a roaring success. Eenadu described it as “people’s tsunami,” Andhra Jyothy quoted Chiru as declaring that PRP would create a silent revolution and Sakshi quoted him as alleging that the Congress and TD had resorted to match fixing.

With regard to other stories on the front page, Eenadu carried a report saying Election Commission is definitely going to axe Director General of Police; while Andhra Jyothy published a curtain raiser on Jr NTR’s election campaign, quoting him as saying that time would decide his political future. On the other hand, Sakshi carried a report which says Mahakootami had no strength to defeat the Congress without the support of Madigas and another story about TD president N Chandrababu Naidu asking the Left parties to cut down their number of seats

Its there duty to elect me!!!

Chiranjeevi got disturbed with the pre-election survey reports was evident from his speech at Rajahmundry.

Chiranjeevi said basically, he was not interested in politics when he was in the cinema field. It is due to pressure from various sections of people that he had taken a plunge into politics. “I felt that you are disgusted with the Congress and Telugu Desam, which have been looting the State for the five decades. And you wanted a change in governance and your lives. You have made me to take up this task. So, it is your responsibility to bring me to power and bless me,” he said.

The PRP president said if the people really wanted change, no statistics and surveys would prove correct. “Going by your response at this public meeting, I am gaining confidence that Praja Rajyam would be voted to power,” he said.

She says Politics is not dancing!!

The attacks and counter-attacks between Praja Rajyam Party mahila wing president Sobha Rani and Telugu Mahila president Roja continue to go unabatedly.

On Tuesday, Sobha said the Election Commission’s directive to political leaders not to resort to personal criticism was aimed only at Roja, who has been attacking Chiranjeevi, Pavan Kalyan and others day in and day out. “At least now, Roja should learn how to behave herself. She must realise that politics is not like dancing in films,” she said.

On her own comments against Roja, the PRP leader defended it saying she had only reacted to Roja’s comments.

He gets 15 cr!!!

As the time is coming near for the elections, the natural phenomena of crossovers and jumping over to various parties has begun and the past few days has seen some real big names crossing over their camps to join hands with the rival folks and creating a new identity for themselves.

In this process, a new name is now being featured and this is of the rebel star Krishnamraju. If news is to be believed then Krishnamraju who has been a long standing member of the BJP party is likely to slide towards Congress and here is an interesting piece of news on this change.

It is heard that the Congress camp is looking at funding close to fifteen crores to Krishnamraju if he accepts their invite and give him a ticket for the Narsapuram constituency. That way the Congress folks want to seal the doors for Chiranjeevi since that happens to be his native place. Let us see how this goes.

Babu athiprema Balakrishna ku Nachaleee!!!

Over 13 years after the political coup against N T Rama Rao, the TDP founder's son Nandamuri Balakrishna on Tuesday came to the defence of his brother-in law Chandrababu Naidu saying he was no backstabber and his actions were only intended to save the party.

"Chandrababu did not stab my father in the back to usurp power, as it was made out. Rather, he only tried to save the TDP given the circumstances that prevailed at that point of time," Mr. Balakrishna told reporters during campaigning in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district.

"Chandrababu had parted ways with N T Rama Rao only in the interest of the TDP. We (NTR family) have now come into the political arena to save the party and restore its glory," Mr. Balakrishna observed.

In a veiled attack on Chiranjeevi, who launched his Praja Rajyam Party, the TDP leader said some film stars were jumping into politics only to serve their own interests. Mocking at the PRP's social justice slogan, Mr. Balakrishna said the Telugu Desam Party "ensured social justice 25 year ago, right at the time of its birth".

Maintaining that it was for the TDP high command to decide on whether or not to field him in the ensuing elections, Mr. Balakrishna said he would be glad to contest the poll from any constituency in the state.

Lokesh Helps NTR in Campaign!!!

Looks like Nara Lokesh Babu, only son of Telugu Desam president NChandrababu Naidu is all set to enter active politics now itself.

Though at present, Lokesh is participating in behind the screen activities of the party, he is likely to come before the public along with Jr NTR. In fact, Lokesh, too, participated in the Naidu-Jr NTR interaction at his residence on Tuesday and evinced interest in campaign. However, Naidu asked him not to be hasty, but enter the scene only when it is extremely essential. He, however, could help NTR in giving latest inputs for speaking in public.

Party sources say Lokesh has been coming to NTR Trust Bhavan almost on a regular basis and spending a few hours with party seniors to know how to handle sensitive political issues. Who knows, Lokesh might take control of the party activities one day or the other!
