CCC VS YSR : A special article

The time has come for the people of Andhra Pradesh and for that matter, the people of India to choose their next set of leaders to run the country for the next five years. Narrowing down, the focus has been on the political scenario in Andhra given the fact that there have been few really dramatic changes in the past year or two. So it is not just the Telugu folk but the entire nation that is keenly looking forward to see the outcome of this poll.

The strong contender is none other than Y S Rajasekhar Reddy who is the current Chief Minister but then this time he has got his strongest opponents in the form of the C-C-C triangle. They are Chandrababu Naidu, the TDP leader and head of the 'Maha Kootami', Chandrasekhar Rao, the leader of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and last but not the least Chiranjeevi, head and founder of the Praja Rajyam Party. So it has become imperative for many political analysts to actually look at what sort of impact this trio will have on the chances of YS becoming the CM again.

Chandrababu Naidu who has been showing enough desperation to come back to power has now assembled the small forces to form a 'Maha Kootami' and not stopping at that he has also brought in the cine glamour in the form of the Nandamuri clan. However, it is widely believed that all this is a tight rope walk given the ideology of the political parties that are part of the 'Kootami' and the sudden switch on the Telangana issue has definitely cost the TDP a fair amount as it looked more a political decision than considering the sentiment of the people.

Whether Telangana is coming or not, every political party barring Congress has begun to sing the same song and it must be admitted that not many of them are really the true Telangana fighters or do not even know what the essence of all this is about. For now, the torch bearer for this happens to be KCR but then his association with Naidu has put him in the back seat and it is being noticed that he has been maintaining a low profile contrasting to his rough tongued nature. Sources inside TRS camp are saying that KCR has resigned to the fact that it is going to be YSR again.

Megastar Chiranjeevi who has come in with the image of 'Andarivadu' has been tasting a slice of reality and what it is like when you go into the midst of a common man and try to resolve the issues and problems. Though the hype of Chiru has been high, by no means was it able to create a Tsunami that was expected like the one in the year 1983 when the legendary NTR established the Telugu Desam Party. Already, there are reports that internal dissatisfaction has been creeping up slowly inside the PRP camp and the senior leaders who left their long associated parties to join Chiru are now said to be cursing themselves since they are not getting the due recognition. So it will be a backyard war first for Chiru before he actually takes on the regime of YSR.

All this apart, it is being said that YS has become a hero in the towns and interior areas of Andhra Pradesh given his dynamic initiatives like 'Arogya Sri' 'Indiramma Padhakam' and many other civil projects that he has undertaken towards agriculture. The rural and agricultural sectors are said to be quite positive on him and though the presence of C-C-C has been quite exhaustive and extensive for the various reasons, all roads are leading to Gandhi Bhavan for the next celebration of power. Let us wait and see how this goes.
