Chiranjeevi plays important role for Ravi Teja And Srikanth

Everyone knows that both Ravi Teja and Srikanth are close to Mega Star Chiranjeevi. Both Ravi Teja and Srikanth started facing trouble on the same day. While Ravi Teja’s brothers were arrested red handed in drug scandal, hero Srikanth’s land got occupied by TRS activists and Kaka’s yes-men.

Now who will save these two heroes? It is heard Ravi Teja and Srikanth are planning to meet Chiranjeevi in person seeking help for influencing the government and relieve brothers and land respectively.

In fact Chiru is saying these days that he is becoming very close to Rosiah. Now it is time for him to prove how close he is. Will Chiru try to help his disciples? Even if he tries, will Chiru’s request hold value? Let us wait and see.

YSR's aim: Get back old figure by next year

Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s objective is to see that the Congress party would get the old figure of 186 members in the assembly by next year.

This was the talk going on in the Congress Legislature Party office on Monday. According to one Rayalaseema Congress leader, the Chief Minister wants, under any circumstances, that the Congress strength should go up from 157 to 186. It means, the party should get the support of another 29 members.

“It is a difficult task no doubt. But with a clever strategy, the Congress can split the opposition parties. At least three or four TRS MLAs, seven to eight PRP MLAs are willing to join the Congress. The rest have to come from the TDP and independents. We have to make all out efforts to split the parties,” a YSR loyalist said.

Analysis: YSR is the king again!

It is a great victory for Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who fought against all odds -- there were no star campaigners for the party, a united opposition, a sort of non-cooperation from within the party and entry of a new political party, Praja Rajyam, which has a backing of a strong community in coastal Andhra,

The Congress has 157 seats in the 294-member assembly, while the Telugu Desam-led Mahakutami could win only 106 seats, including 91 for TDP, 10 for TRS, four for CPI and one for CPI-M. The PRP remained a poor third with 18 seats. Others could get 13 seats, including two BJP, one Lok Satta, seven MIM and three independents.

The election results have surprised the poll-pundits, who were predicting that there would be a hung assembly in the state this time and that the seats of PRP would be crucial in deciding the fate of the new government.

There are many reasons for the victory of the Congress in the assembly elections. The main reason is that it was completely a positive vote for the Congress government. In the last five years, the YSR government had fulfilled all its promises on implementing welfare and development programmes. The schemes implemented by the Congress government fetched YSR the victory. Thus, there was no anti-incumbency factor this time. The anti-government vote, if any, was split between the TDP and the PRP. Secondly, the alliance with the TRS proved to be a nemesis for the TDP. The TRS has not only fared poorly even in the Telangana strongholds, but also spoiled the chances of the TDP. This was evident from the way the Congress won more than 40 seats in Telangana region. There was no transfer of votes even among the TDP and the Communist parties in many areas.

And the PRP also spoiled the TDP chances. Chiranjeevi's social justice slogan failed to impress the people and he heavily banked on caste polarisation, especially the Kapu factor in the coastal Andhra, hoping to eat into the Congress vote bank. But, it could only eat into the TDP votes, damaging the latter's prospects. Chiranjeevi himself lost his Palacole assembly segment in his native West Godavari district, though he won the Tirupati seat with a meagre margin of around 10,000 votes. Analysts say the TDP would have benefitted much, had there been no PRP in the fray; or there should have been an alliance between the Congress and the TDP.

Finally, the TDP's much-hyped cash transfer scheme and supply of free colour televisions to the poor also have failed to make any impact on the electorate.

YS Jagan’s ‘Khabaddar’ To Andhra Jyothy And Eenadu

YS Jagan has won with triumphant majority from Cuddapah. With happiness filled eyes he said in front of media camera, “Andhra Jyothy and Eenadu should open their eyes at least now. Nothing can dominate ‘praja balam’. Those two news dailies have written many wrong things about me. And now people have showered victory on me. I’m indebted to people of Cuddapah. I serve them for my life time. I don’t take even the center gives me any ministry. I stay only in the state and particularly in Cuddapah”.

Well he uttered the names of Andhra Jyothy and Eenadu as soon as he won the election. Is that an indirect ‘khabaddar’ warning for those two news dailies? We have to wait and see what his game plan will be in coming years.

No fancy promises: YSR

Unlike the Telugu Desam manifesto, which promised free colour TV sets and cash transfer scheme for the poor, the Congress manifesto released on Monday is simple and straight: the party would take forward its development and welfare agenda with more vigour.

“We don’t make fancy and impracticable promises in air. Our feet are firmly on the ground. We will take our existing programmes forward with more vigour and eradicate poverty,” Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said while releasing the manifesto. He rejected the theory that the Rs 2 a kg rice scheme and free power to farmers were populist schemes. “They are a sort of incentives to the people who work hard,” he said.

Among the new promises made in the manifesto are: nine-hour uninterrupted power supply to agriculture free of cost and round-the-clock power supply to the other sectors throughout the state; creating a hutless state in the next five years, supply of LPG connections to all houses and increasing per head rice quota from 4 kg to 6 kg a month at Rs 2 a kg.

Besides, the manifesto promised extension of “pavala vaddi” scheme to rural artisans, 100 per cent electrification of all households, construction of toilets for all weaker section houses and issuance of biometric identity cards to all citizens in the state.

'Jump jilanees' in Congress

Now that the Congress has announced its list of candidates, defections have started from it into the other parties.

Following the resignation of senior MLA Penmatsa Sambasiva Raju, others also started looking for jumping into other parties. Kakinada MLA Mutta Gopalakrishna resigned from the party and is planning to join the PRP. Another MLA from Santhanuthalapadu Dara Sambaiah also quit the party and joined the BSP in the presence of Mayawati.

Minister Gollapalli Surya Rao, who was also denied the ticket, raised serious allegations against Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, stating that corruption had become rampant during YSR regime and that he had been denied ticket only because he question a small portion of corruption in his district involving J C Diwakar Reddy. He is also looking up to the PRP.

More “jump jilanees” are in the offing, Gandhi Bhavan sources say.

Face 2 Face : Shabbir to Jr NTR

The state minister for power, Mr Md Ali Shabbir, on Monday asked TD campaigner Junior NTR to first secure marital status for his mother, Ms Shalini, before talking about social justice in the state.

Addressing a media conference, Mr Shabbir said though Mr Harikrishna, son of the late N.T. Rama Rao, is continuing his relationship with Ms Shalini, she has not been recognised by NTR’s family members yet.

He recalled his commenting on actor Pavan Kalyan’s relationship with Ms Renu Desai. He said he had then pointed out that Pavan, brother of the Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi, had not married Ms Desai even after procuring divorce from his first wife. The minister said Pavan realised the mistake and married Ms Desai. Mr Ali asked Junior NTR to put pressure on his father Mr Harikrishna to see that Ms Shalini gets marital status.

Mr Ali ridiculed the Telugu Desam chief, Mr Chandrababu Naidu’s announcement of 12-hour of free power to all farmers in the state at daytime. He asked why had Mr Naidu supplied power for just seven hours — that too with charges — during his tenure. The power minister accused the former chief minister of booking cases against almost one lakh farmers in the state during his rule.

Mareppa rocks again with his extra mouth!!!

Former Marketing Minister M Mareppa, who was kicked out of the YSR cabinet, is yet to learn a lesson and he is back to foul-mouthing of media and his opponents.

Reacting to the reports that he might not get the ticket from Aluru this time, Mareppa fretted and fumed, saying it was a conspiracy by the media against him. “I can contest from any constituency and win the elections. Nobody can stop me,” he said.

He described Mahakootami as “kakula kootami” (a group of crows), with constituents shouting against one another. This kootami would not last long, he said.

CM in Dilema

In selecting candidates for next election ..i.e is his exercise of candidates’ selection commencing, Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy is learnt to be have developed second thoughts over dropping of sitting MLAs for the coming elections.

According to original plan, YSR was expected to deny tickets to at least 80 sitting MLAs and replace them with new faces. He put forth the same proposal before the Congress high command. Now, he is learnt to have changed his mind. Reason: Most of the MLAs, who suspected that they would not get tickets this time, approached PCC president D Srinivas and through him approached the high command. Huge amounts changed hands in this process and the high command, too, would not deny the PCC president’s recommendations.

Secondly, political equations have been rapidly changing in the State and those who do not get tickets can easily jump into the Telugu Desam or Praja Rajyam Party. And it is not sure whether the fresh faces fielded from their places would be able to face the elections boldly.

So, there might not be many droppings of sitting MLAs, except in a few places, sources say.

Cong's KBK contest on mahakotami!!

With elections round the corner, political parties are coming out with innovative campaign in the electronic media.

The Telugu Desam's ad campaign using chicks and crows and interviews with honest officers, Congress party's counter campaign describing Naidu as a fox and Chiranjeevi's human interesting campaign calling for a change in the governance have all attracted the viewers.

Now, the latest campaign of the Congress is more interesting. It is based on the famous Kaun Banega Crorepati, whose theme was the basis for latest movie sensation Slumdog Millionaire. In this advertisement, the anchor asks questions to the participants on the irregularities in Chandrababu Naidu regime and rewards the winners with gifts.

YSR says no decision on Telangana before polls

At last, Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's word prevailed before AICC president Sonia Gandhi on the crucial Telangana issue.

After meeting Sonia, a jubilant YSR told mediapersons that no decision had been taken on Telangana, since the high command had to hold further consultations with many other sections concerned with the issue. "The Congress high command might take a decision before the next elections," he said.

The Chief Minister also ruled out the possibility of passing a resolution in the State Assembly in favour of Telangana. "When we have left it to the high command, there is no need for the State Assembly to adopt a resolution. We have only discussed the election strategies with the Madam," he said.

Hope lost on CM?

Right now the current talk is going on in Praja Rajyam party circles is that megastar Chiranjeevi has almost lost hope on becoming the next Chief Minister.

Eversince the Congress emerged victorious in the Assembly elections in Delhi and Rajasthan recently, Chiranjeevi has not been very optimistic about his party's performance in the next elections. Though he has not expressed his feeling publicly, he is learnt to have told his close confidants that the party should better focus on 2014 elections, rather than 2009 elections. He was of the view that unless the party's organization is built up strongly, it is not possible to come to power. He was pinning hopes on the Communist parties, but the latter preferred to sail with TD, which is getting stronger and stronger.

So, shoulders are dropping for Chiru; and it is good omen for Y S Rajasekhara Reddy!

YSR DOUBLE HAPPY!!!

With the over come of results from the five states and the most happeist man in the Congress is none other than our Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

YSR is learnt to be of the view that AP would also repeat the Delhi results, provided the Congress high command would leave it to him the selection of candidates in the elections. "There are a lot of similarities between Delhi and AP. In both the States, there is no dissidence in the party and no alternative leadership to the existing CMs. In Delhi, Shiela Dixit was given full freedom. If YSR, too, is given freedom, he would work wonders," sources close to him said.

The Chief Minister is confident that the high command would not dare to go against his wishes; since it would prove counter productive. Like in Delhi, the Opposition is not so strong in AP and more over, it is divided. "If it is a vote for development in Delhi, then, it would be the same in AP," he observed.

Money Money This is waht congress says!!!

It’s election time and the Congress leadership is once again in the thick of controversy over distribution of party tickets to the ‘rich’ and ‘mighty’.

PCC president D Srinivas, who is presently touring different parts of the State to gear up the party cadres for the forthcoming elections, is learnt to be actually on the job of ‘fund raising’ for the party as well as for the people who matter in issuance of party tickets. “There is no doubt that only those who can grease the palms of the PCC president would get tickets this time in several constituencies, as had happened in the past,” a senior Congress leader from Nalgonda told Deccan Post.

During 2004 elections, too, DS was the PCC president and he had to face allegations of collecting money from several aspirants. It is not just senior leaders like P Sivasankar and P Upendra, who made such allegations; present Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee president D Nagender, too, openly alleged that DS was ‘selling’ tickets to the aspirants. For instance, there was a talk that Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki could get the party ticket only because of his money power.

In the last four and a half years, the Congress leaders allegedly amassed huge wealth through land deals, irrigation contracts and sub-contracts and other shady activities. “Each candidate is ready to spend not less than Rs 10 crore on the elections, right from purchasing party tickets to purchasing votes. It is going to be the most expensive election in the history of Andhra Pradesh,” a Lok Satta leader said.

Naturally, people who matter in the selection of candidates will rake in the moolah at the time of elections. Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy is harping on winning chances of the candidates as the criteria for issuance of party tickets. But, what matters finally is money. “Right from the PCC leaders to AICC in charge of AP affairs Veerappa Moily, it will be the golden opportunity to make quick money,” a young aspirant for Congress ticket said.

While seniors and confidants of the Chief Minister who do not have much competition in their respective constituencies can easily get tickets, money plays a crucial role in those constituencies, where there is a tough competition among the aspirants. “That is how things work out in the Congress,” he said.

Brother and Sister sentiment!!

The leader can be from ruling party or from opposition or from a budding new party-everyone is addressing with the word 'brothers' and 'sisters'. It's a common factor to note that the political speeches start with the line 'My dear brothers and sisters'.

But here even while giving a statement or while referring to anyone, the political lips are uttering the word 'brother' or 'sister'.

When observed we can see Roja calling Naidu as 'Anna'. And Chiru has been called 'annayya' by film fraternity as well as political followers. YSR is calling Sabita Indra Reddy as 'chellamma'. Babu called people 'thammullu' during his Yuva Garjana. He never used such expression earlier and it is the influence of competition from other parties around him. And KCR is calling his people as 'brothers and sisters'.

Now Chiranjeevi has gone a step ahead calling his rival also as his brother. That would be his pseudo Gandhian style, say a few. He called KCR as 'brother'. "My brother and your leader KCR has himself said there was clarity in what I said," he told the TRS activists.

A few weeks back it is known that a video clipping has entered youtube and that is the private meeting of PRP leaders with Chiranjeevi. Mega Star is seen saying to his followers to address people as 'brother' and 'sister' wherever they go. He implies that it is the best way to develop a sort of family relation and closeness develops to cast votes for them.

We have to see how this 'daayadula poru' (as they are calling 'brothers' and 'sisters' among themselves) would result in. Who are pandavas and who are kouravas can be known only after elections.

Pedha hero lu pedha problems thesthunnaru!!!

The young heroes like Allu Arjun, NTR Jr, Mahesh and even the fresh blooded Ramcharan Teja have been coming out with one or hardly one movie in two years which is something that heavyweights like Shahrukh and Aamir Khan have been doing after having spent decades in the industry. While this is no comparative analysis of sorts, what needs to be seen here is the economic condition of the industry that survives majorly on these big stars and if they fail to show up on the screens few times then the idea of revenue generation and prosperity with opportunities is completely ruled out.

The senior stars like Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Balayya who are to lead by example have been coming up with barely one film a year and the risks involved are high if they fail. Much to the horror, both 'Don' and 'Chintakayala Ravi' of the big stars did dismal performance leaving nothing much for the film folk. Balayya that way made his presence felt with 'Pandurangadu' to salvage the ruins of 'Okka Magadu'.

Analysts say that this is not a good sign where stars are shying away from doing two or three projects a year and here is a synopsis of the figures that we have.

The jewels in the crown were films like 'Ready' and 'Kotha Bangaru Lokam' which were made at medium budgets but then 'Ready' made a collection of a whopping 15 crores while 'KBL' also achieved somewhat the same figure. Then came 'Kantri' made at a budget of 17 crores and collecting 20 crores followed by 'Ashta Chemma' with a budget of around 1.5 crores and making a profit of nearly 3-4 crores more like a metro hit.

On the dark side, there was 'Keka' that was made at a more than required budget but then it suffered huge losses of up to 50%-60%. So, in all these instances it was only the NTR movie that had its nose above the water when it came to big banners.

It is about time the big stars realize that the industry's survival lies on their hands and if they take the initiative and come up with more than one release a year, it will not only keep the ball rolling but also create a fulfillment for the audience and fans who are waiting for years together just to see one single movie that turns out to be a disaster in the end not to mention the disappointment it causes for the viewers.

First show collection says JC DIWAKAR.

Its like first show collections for chiru films and in the same manner JC compares with the crowd came for seeing chiru. The tremendous response being received from crowds by megastar Chiranjeevi in Anantapur has sent jitters in the camp of Panchayat Raj Minister J C Diwakar Reddy.

However, JC is trying to brush it aside as lightly to cover up his jittery. While admitting huge turnout to Chiranjeevi's road shows, he said it was nothing but the crowd turning up for Chiru's film at the first show. "It is nothing but natural that people are curious to watch Chiranjeevi, as they go to cinema theatres on the first day to see his movies. After a few days, the curiousity disappears, just as rush comes down for a movie," he said.

Well, movies sometimes become big hits. And who knows Chiru party also may become a big hit one day!

MAHESH EDHI SANGHATHI!!!

At last Mahesh babu got place in politics cartoons. Mahesh told in the Nadhi function that YSR is my lucky CM because i got two nandhi awards in his era only.So with this kind of saying now media got good chance to speculate the cartoons across the AP.

Mahesh has now become the special interest for the Eenadu group and that was evident when a cartoon resembling him appeared on the front page of its Newspaper. It shows the face of YSR in the place of the bull's face on the Nandi statue and a young couple is admiring the statue.

If Mahesh is actually looking at doing anything on political grounds then this is the first sign for him as to what will be in store when he actually picks up the momentum. While the formal confirmation is still not given, the arrival of Mahesh even in cartoons goes to show the impact his presence has been creating.

Hello meeru evari sommu evariki isthunnaru

YS Jagan kuda father laaga deergaalu teesthunadu and he says" rendu rupayala biyyam icchamu, idhi icchamu adhi icchamu inthakanna ekkadaina ye mukhyamatri chesaada icchada” as if CM is god’s gift to Andhra Pradesh.

Hello, meeru evari sommu evariki isthunnaru? BTW, this is not our words. In 1985 a farmer questioned NTR, meeru evari sommu evariki isthunnaru when he went 2 Nellore for an election campaign. So aa rojullone start ayyindi questioning spirit. Talk about law and order, violence in the state, during the election campaign, YSR confessed for possible Chief Ministership, “I am a changed person, violence no longer has any place in my life.”

After all the rhetoric on biblical wisdom of mercy and forgiveness, the first political murder in the state was recorded within 100 hours of his becoming CM. In less than 48 hours, two more murders took place. In 9 mths 44 murders after that lekkane ledhu. Since may 14, 2004, people of AP have lost dignity of living in a civilized society. The faction violence is fully sponsored, planned, willed and executed by them. YS would not stop even at his own party leaders if his supremacy is questioned. His track record of loyalties within the party was often dotted with insane activities like having chappals thrown on his own party’s leader and the then PM PV and CM KVB in cuddapah.

To bring down Marri Chenna Reddy everyone knows what he did. The CM has a pvt army and the assignments of this army is to spread fear and resort 2 unlawful activities. A section of the media, a section of the TFI have all fallen for his freebies. Eye for an eye and tooth 4 a tooth is YSR policy. What happens if a factionist becomes a chief minister for a second time? First chasthe paatheyataaniki land AP lo migulthundo ledho choosukovali…reservations/bookings open....

Emi antaru telugu muddu biddalara.....!!!!

Who is behind Jr NTR mother???

Recently in almost all media it came that Jr.Ntr is trying to join in congress and Now a little different that veterans of Congress have got in touch with NTR's mother with their thoughts.

Apparently, there is news that these leaders have been reminding his mother about the time when their family was completely ignored by the Nandamuri clan and how they are trying to show warmth now that the elections are approaching and NTR's appeal is needed.

Apart from that, they are said to be showering some undeniably good offers if NTR wishes to join them and fight against the family. While there was a buzz that though NTR has not said anything, he did have a positive inclination over this proposal and only time will say whose side he will take.
